Enjoy the exciting diving opportunities on Cozumel and experience the spear Lionfish.
At first the lionfish was considered a high-risk invasor for the cozumel reefs, although if it represents a risk to the island's marine fauna, the population has found a way to fight this invasive species of the Mexican Caribbean. After an investigation into the toxins, it was discovered that this toxin is only in its spines and that the meat is extremely delicious, which is why several local restaurants decided to give it a good stew and present some delicious dishes that are now part of our local gastronomy.
To find a good size lionfish we must dive at least 80 or 90 feet, in fact it does not require much experience in diving but it is always recommended that you have good buoyancy and a very good air consumption.
